Liberty Shipbrokers was founded by Gavin Murray who has more than 40 years experience in dry bulk shipping. Gavin has worked as a broker in Montreal, London, and Brisbane and has worked on the chartering desks of Marine Transport Lines in New Jersey, and Fednav Limited in Tokyo and Brisbane. Gavin has been based in Brisbane for more than 25 years (with Fednav Limited and Anderson Hughes Shipbrokers).

Sarah has worked in bulk shipping for more than 18 years, starting with Fednav Limited, Brisbane in 2006. After five years with Fednav Limited, Sarah moved over to Anderson Hughes in 2011, where besides her office administration role, she looked after laytime, charter parties, and post fixture coordination. Sarah joined Liberty Shipbrokers shortly after its founding, where she is in charge of laytime, charter parties, and all matters related to post-fixture.
